Yard Truck in a Yard

What is a Yard Truck?

A Yard Truck is a vehicle designed for moving semitrailers in or around a commercial freight yards. It is built to accommodate a hydraulic lifting fifth wheel, which allows the operator to move trailers without exiting the cab or cranking the landing gear.

Once a trailer has been moved to it's destination, the operator can lower the trailer back to the ground, and uncouple the fifth wheel without leaving the cab. A yard truck can normally move 3 units in the same amount of time that a standard truck would use to move 1 unit.
How do we know if we need a yard truck?

If you are here searching for an answer then chances are you are in need. A yard truck can increase driver productivity in most situations and the easiest way to figure out if you are in need of one is to track the time your drivers spend cranking up trailers prior to hooking up.

There are tons of financial calculations you could work but the quickest way to really know for sure is to contact a dealer and have them do the math.
